Sprint and skate along 42 kilometres of trails under bright sunshine in a cross-country skiing paradise. During a day-long cross-country ski tour, you’ll be tempted to stop for refreshments at one of the many inns right on the trail. Besides Gsieser and Pustertal specialties, the sun terraces are particularly attractive places to linger.

The Gsieser Valley is also wonderfully suited to snowshoe hikes, ski tours, ice skating, tobogganing, horse-drawn carriage rides, and romantic winter hikes. The atmospheric Christmas markets in the villages and towns of the region are also worth a visit.

At the valley head in St. Magdalena, you’ll find a small, sunny ski area with charm. Perfect for families, children, novice skiers, and anyone looking for comfort away from the big ski resorts. A premium ski rental depot and ski service can be found right at the “Berglift” valley station, as well as the ski school. There are no long lines either at the lift or the ski hut, only unadulterated skiing pleasure.

Ski holidays for every taste at the Kronplatz ski region

In the winter, the Gsieser Valley is an invitation to all skiers and snowboarders who prefer an individual, family ski area away from the hustle and bustle. Three lifts await you in St. Magdalena, Pichl, and at Guggenberg in Taisten, with their own ski schools as well as ski and snowboard rental outlets.

The ski area of Kronplatz, South Tyrol’s no. 1 ski mountain, is just a few kilometres away. A total of 119 kilometres of slopes in all degrees of difficulty await you there. With its gentle, treeless slopes, Kronplatz is the ideal winter sports area. At your discretion, therefore, you can choose between small but fine in Gsies or the ultimate in the Pustertal.
